I think it will stay at 16gb for awhile. Thats a lot of memory for a phone...imo

haha don't expect a 64gb iPhone for a loooooooong time

32gb chips haven't even been released... at the rate that these chips are being developed I would expect a 64gb chip to be announced ... perhaps in the next 12-18 months. You still have to factor in production and then companies putting the chips into their devices.

I know I will regret this because, I am sick of these "when will this or that be released" threads. But, I did see a 32GB SD card and a 32GB flash drive this weekend while I was shopping.

My guess is that by the end of 2009 these cards will be affordable enough for iPod/iPhone use. Whether Apple releases anything that size by the end of the year is another question.

on the Mac rumors buyers guide they have a note saying

"32gb NAND chips start Production in Early 2009, don't expect an updated iPhone before that"

so it is possible that a 32gb iPhone can come out at Macworld. Luckily my crappy sprint contract ends the 2nd week of February so I'll get my iPhone shortly after =P

Actually, they've already went in to production according to an article I found the other day, I posted the article in another thread.

yes but those chips are probably too big to be used in an iphone when they are stacked 8 layers high ( 43nm ) with a controller... i assume that they will wait for the intel 32nm chips

It will come out approximately seven hours after you buy your iPhone :)

Haha, Murphy's law :p

WHERE is the iphone 32 gb?!?!?!!?

Ok.. Seriously... WHERE is it? I have been wanting a new mp3 player and a new phone for quite some time now. Since you cannot ad memory to the iphone, 32gb would be perfect. What is odd, is that there is a ipod touch 32gb, but no phone. Now, i do understand formfactor issues.. but come on.. i am tired of the wait and i am a little upset at mac for really slacking on this...

plus.. i am so sick of verizon and their terrible UI on all their phones and i want OUT !!!!
anyone able to shed any light on this?
