    No. But I'm excited anyway.

I've always been au natural with my iPhone, but when I found out that video recording wouldn't be included in iPhone OS 3.0... I decided to turn to the darkside.

Anyone feel that the anti-climax of OS 3.0 and the iPhone 3.0 has made you decide to jailbreak?

Why did you ask a question, and then answer it in your first statement?

A Jailbreak will give me all of the features I am missing with 3.0 that 3GS got but not 3G, give or take things like the faster processor, compass, or auto focus.

Just make sure you don't update the baseband and you'll be able to use yellowsnow again to unlock the phone for T-mobile.

Well my first statement was that iPhone OS 3.0 + Jailbreak does not = iPhone 3G. Furthermore, I think it's obvious where my stance is, I was just curious what others thought.

I didnt know that video recording on 3.0 was only for the S and not the 3G alone. Is this true?

I was under the impression that things like MMS, video recording and other similar things are available on the new 3.0 on the older 3G regardless of hardware. Obviously the things like compass and advanced camera functions would not as they require new hardware.

Voice control and video recording are also only available on the 3GS, even though they would seem to only require software updates. This could either be a cynical attempt by Apple to provide additional incentive to update to the 3GS. Or, a more charitable interpretation is that it may be that these features wouldn't work as well on the older hardware as on the 3GS, and Apple only wants to provide these features if they work well. Cycorder shows that existing iPhone's are capable of taking video, but it also shows that the resulting video is very low framerate compared to most cameras. Additionally the video editing features of 3.0 might require the faster hardware in the 3GS to work well.
