iPhone 3G 3.1.3 jailbreak or unlock?

I'm new to the iPhone world and recently picked up an iPhone 3G. My buddy has his running BlackRa1n and I was hoping install it on my device as well. Unfortuantely he told me since I had version 3.1.3 I would not be able to install in.

Is there another Jailbreak that I could use that is equal to Blackra1n? I'm keeping this iPhone on the AT&T network so unlocking isn't important to me.

Spirit is the best jb out right now! Do a full restore.then jb with spirit. Easier then blackra1n. Get it at www.spiritjb.com there i don't beleive you can unlock 3g 3.1.3

Yes, spirit would work with your 3.1.3 3G.
You dont need the unlock since you're with AT&T.
