iPhone 3G/3GS video call with fring ? (rear camera)

Hey I was wondering if the iPhone 3G or 3GS could use the rear camera as a video calling camera over 3G using fring ?

I'm asking because I have a iPhone 4 and my friend has a samsung vibrant from tmobile that does not have a front facing camera and she's able to call me with fring using the rear camera, pretty awkward as you see she had to be in the mirror so I can see her but hey it works.

I wouldn't see why anyone phone that can get the app, along with a camera that can record couldn't.

That's what I was thinking but then again I wasn't sure because apple has a lot of restrictions.
