Iphone 3G activation UK

Hi i have just order my apple iphone 3G and im wondering how long i have got to activate it as i am thinking of giving it as a gift.

It depends, if you did it via O2 Gateway then it should be... well, before midnight. If you did it via paper then 48 hours, and if you did it via telephone to O2 from the store, 24 hours.

yeah, ive just ordered it from the carphone warehouse website today. I wanted to know if you can activate it in a few weeks (by 8th August) without incurring a penalty charge or something like that

Oh. I shouldn't think so. I just fail to see how you bought it without agreeing to buy a contract?

i think i signed up to a pre-contract agreement by giving my debit account details and selecting which plan i am going to be on
