iPhone 3g and iPod touch 2G... Same headphone jack?

I am going to purchase these earphones with mic http://www.tessco.com/products/displayProductInfo.do?sku=353846&eventGroup=4&eventPage=1

They state the product is compatible with the iPhone 3g, so can I assume as they have the same headphone jack it will also work with the iPod touch 2nd gen?

iPhone 3G & iPod Touch Headphone is compatible with any ordinary 3.5mm headphone plug... only Original iPhone needs special earphone
