hey first post in this part of the Mac rumours forum :) I was just wondering does any one know what happened to the boot Lace app? I have a iPhone 3G (iPhone1,2 N82) (currently running 3.1.3 but same thing happens in 4.2.1) that i was hopping to dual boot with Android but it seems the servers that Boot lace connect to are down or not working? (and as such none of the options in bootlace work) and the idroid websites dont work either :( (found that out when i went to manually dual boot it but the web archive did not archived all the needed files) any help would be greatly appreciated

I believe the project is abandoned.
I wouldn't bother anyway with such and old, slow and outdated device.
It's pretty much a thing to say you can dual boot into android with an iPhone but not much as far as functionality or reliability.

I am well aware that the project has long since been abandoned. and im well aware of the devices capabilities if i need something modern thats what my iPad mini 4 is for :) but I would like to get this working as i find it quite cool and would be something nice to experience. I come from the PowerPC section of Mac rumours where we play with 10+ year old hardware all the time heh.

So what you're saying is you're going to create your own android port for iOS?
Maybe contact the original people involved with it to see if they we willing to assist you with some tools or added source code.

well no i was just asking if anyone around here knew what was up if this was a known bug and there was a fix or something. me and @128keaton are working on something (he managed to track down the files BootLace use and has made a sort of mirror we making good progress and he got it working on his phone but with mine when i go to download OpeniBoot it crashes the app shortly after displaying the downloading bar)

managed to get android booted on the iPhone no luck with boot lace but managed to manually hunt down the needed files and followed the manuall guide on the idroid wiki via the web archive and got it booted. would be nice if boot lace would come back tho

Depending on what time I have today, I could make a Snow Leo VM and grab a 4.2.1 SDK and see whats broke
