While I'm happy for anyone who is pleased with their iPod touch, I would strongly recommend visiting an Apple Store to get some hands on before buying. All the display models I saw looked absolutely horrific - the backs were not just covered in fingerprints but also quite deep scratches into the polished steel. Clearly if you look after your new iPod touch that shouldn't be too much of a problem, but when I visited, they had only just been released for a couple of days and I was very surprised at the battering they had taken in 2 days of being on display in the store. Notwithstanding the obvious point that the iPhone is a phone as well as an iPod, I would still choose the white plastic of my iPhone over the polished steel of the new touches. Also I have to say that the iPhone just feels better in my hand. That's just my opinion though, naturally!
