Hey everyone, my ageing iPhone 3G has got a 1 inch hairline crack coming off the headphone jack (weird since i never use the jack), should i bother taking it to an Apple Store (i plan on getting an iPhone 5 in June/July since my contract is due for renewal then) but i don't need my phone falling too bits tomorrow or within the next 3 months, does it warrant a refurb? Regards, skate71290

I sure wouldn't spend the money on a refurb, if I was gonna buy a new one in 3 months.

my phone is out of warranty (expired this January). I have no idea what the Marketplace is, can you post a link on the thread?

Aren't these cracks in the plastic a design flaw though? With my previous MBA first generation, the hinge cracked and was fixed for free out of warranty because it is a design flaw, i thought the same would apply to my iPhone?

we're not Apple. go to the store and find out.

I thought cracks were wear and tear. Mine doesn't have any cracks on the back, but a few scratches from going naked.
