iPhone 3G data prepaid sim card

Hi. I'm french and I will go to California next Wednesday for one month.
I own an unlocked iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a prepaid data plan to use it.

I bought an at&t pay as you go simcard but it only works on my sony ericsson. I called at&t they told me that gophone will not work on iPhone.

Because I just stay for one month i can't subscribe a contract. Do T-mobile or any other cellphone network have a prepaid plan with a data option ?

I think T-Mobile offers a pay as you go plan, but it doesn't officially support iPhone so visual voicemail won't work.

It should work fine as long as its a GSM phone and works on the same bands we use in the US. The bands are different all over.

On which prepaid plan is there data ? (100MB for $20 for example)
