So I will be swaping my 3G out today or tommorrow. It's bricked and that was explained in a previous post. My concern is that once they unbrick it in California or wherever, what about all my personal data on the iPhone? Should I change my email passwords so that if for whatever reason my data is not wiped from the old phone, no one can access it?

    Other options?

It is bricked. They will wipe everything off of it or replace the chips. They never look at the phones, as most of the work is automated in a special set of software utilities.

The reason for my concern is that when I replaced my 2G iPhone and got a white box replacement, there were contacts and photos on it from whomever had it before me.
