Make sure the batteries are not swollen. My iPhone 4 was like that and eventually cracked the front glass.

That's the UK version of Apple's power adapter.

I know. I never seen an „exploded“ one.

But Apple had a recall program 10 years ago for the non UK chargers

I didn't. I plugged it in, the phone turned on and the charger when bang 😛
