iPhone 3G help?

Okay so sadly, I have an iPhone 3G and therefore have many disadvantages.
How can I make my iPhone better as this will be my main phone for at east six months and knowing what to do would be great.
It's only 8GB and running 4.2.1 I think...

Pretty much the only thing you can do, is downgrade back to iOS 3.1.3. It will make it somewhat faster.

Download an iPhone 3G 3.1.3 ipsw here

Then open iTunes, shift+restore (pc) or option+restore (mac) then select the 3.1.3 ipsw.
