iPhone 3g plan discount

I just called AT&T and had a 30 minute convo with a rep. I applied for an AT&T discount using my NYU email and I will be recieving 20% off my iPhone 3g plan. 40$ for 450 min. 30$ for data. 5$ for 200 texts. Minus 20% I am paying the same as my current 40$ +20$ minute and data plan. Looks like I will be online July 11.

Good news for those who dont like the plan cost.

Ps. He also told me that the discount applies to the 3g plan not the 2g plan.

Someone previously mentioned that education/school discounts only apply to line items greater than $35. I'm on a Premier account right now with a MotoQ smart phone with the data plan, and the discount only applies to the voice portion of the bill, so this might be the case.

Just something to keep in mind.
