But I believe T-mobile is behind in their GSM coverage US-wide so not neccessarily a better coice. TDSN is not an option as it is not worldwide, so no Verizon for the time being.

Well its better for me... being that AT&T had almost no service where I live, and T-mobile does...
 
I went to the Apple Store in Bridgewater NJ around 1:00 on launch day.

Around 20 people were on line. The store was wall to wall iPhone activation. I waited on the iPhone line for around 15 minutes, then on another line inside the store for another 10 or so waiting for an employee to process the sale and do phone activation. My new phone is a 2nd line, and of course there was a problem on the AT&T end. All in all it took about an hour and a half.
