Iphone 3G Slow?

I'm finding that my new Iphone 3G is much slower than the old Iphone when transitioning between applications and the home screen, taking a few seconds each time. It is also much slower when typing, each letter remaining raised for almost a second. And it has nothing to do with available space, i have 13 gigs free. Anyone else having this issue? What should i do to fix this? Maybe restore it?

Try a restore. Can't hurt.
Also: no such problems with my 16GB Iphone 3G. 8 gigs free.
