Hi I was wondering if any one knows how to view sms texts on a mac from old backup files.

Check out Phoneview there's a free trial version online. I haven't used it, but it looks pretty nice.

Edit: I just realized you said from old backups, I think this may just be to view/archive things on a phone that's physically connected...
