iPhone 3g unlock

i have tried numerous times to unlock my iphone 3g. i have ios 3.1.3. i added the source to cydia blackra1n.com, then when i try to install blacksn0w it finished then reboots and stays on the apple and spinning wheel. i know how to get out of that, but i cant figure out an unlock. any ideas. i have tried ultrasn0w and yellowsn0w as well and the same thing happened

Most likely your baseband is 5.12.01 or above. There is no unlock for that baseband yet. There is a small chance you can downgrade your baseband to an unlockable one, using Fuzzyband from Cydia. No unlocks currently out will unlock your phone. You will need to wait for a new one. Have patience.

You cannot unlock a 3G model thats been updated to official 3.1.3
Try installing fuzzyband thru cydia to see if it will let you downgrade your baseband.
If not your SOL for now.
