Hi guys can i update my software on my unlocked iPhone 3G in iTunes without messing up anything..like getting no service at all.i get a pop up saying new software is available..i'm asking because i know people who have jailbroken there phones and did a download and are now having problems.This is my mothers phone.can you help me.

Second of all, is this 3G factory unlocked or unlocked thru other means?
Factory unlock means it was unlocked either at factory or a unlock request was processed thru iTunes.
