    1. What are the main differences between the old iphone and this new 3G model?
    2. Is the old iphone still for sale? If it is then is it worth buying, if someone dont need its latest implementations?

Search is your friend. ;) It's been discussed here ad nauseum. Also, you can go to cnet.com or apple.com/iphone and find out.

    Here's the short answer:

The 3G uses 3G networks for voice and data, which has a number of advantages. It also has a GPS. Beyond those two, the other differences are minor and/or cosmetic.

The original iPhone is no longer for sale through official channels, but you can still buy and activate them.

As of right now, the 3G is not able to be unlocked to be used with carriers other than the original carriers, though the original can be.
