    Hello friends,
Today I got caught is a massive downpour and when I got in my car and looked at my iphone 3GS it had a yellow icon and it said "Charging is not supported with this accessory."
This happened to me once before but I was able to fix the problem with a toothbrush and a vacuum.
I haven't been so lucky this time around.
On the plus side! My music plays, everything works, it plugs in just fine! From what I can tell the ONLY issue is this error on my home screen. At this point it appears to be little more than an eyesore.
I will be putting my phone in rice tonight and running it for the day tomorrow. I will then restore it tomorrow night if I dont have any luck.
    Please send some suggestions.
    Thanks so much!

    Where bunnies are welcome.
Doing the rice is all you can do. You've got water damage. In the meantime turn it off and don't use it for a few days.

    Charging is not supported...

There is a piece of wood under, and it helps. Now works 100 percent, without any pop up message :).

iPhone 3gs - "Charging not supported with this accessory"

I just encountered this same problem and fixed it!

It's a wonky dock connector straight up. Maybe complicated by your water damage IDK... But... Leave Uncle Ben's rice alone.

I have outlined the entire process for fixing it here on my blog at: http://www.johnsappo.com/blog/2011/...ing-is-not-supported-with-this-accessory.html

Hit me up with any questions.

    Best. :)

I used to have this problem with an AT&T car charger (go figure). To remedy it, I usually just plugged in into the phone a few times. I think it was either an issue with the prongs or it just couldn't get a decent connection.

My suggestion is try a different charger if you have one. See if the message pops up.
