Iphone 3gs frozen...can anyone help me please???

Hiya people im really stuck ..Firstly my iphone was only playing sound through the headphones and thats it, if someone tried calling me it would just be silent. i reset my phone to factory settings and still no sound..so then i decided to do a hard reboot ..now its been stuck on the apple symbol for half an hour or more...occasionally turning off and the back on to the symbol. I have no idea what to do about this problem ...do i leave it overnight and see if its sorted itself out or do i try and reboot it again???? Helpp please....! 😕

I assume you haven't accidentally moved the ring/silencer switch? (I have on a few occasions!!)

Do you any idea what may have caused this problem? Did you upgrade to 4.0 today, install a new app, etc...
