Ok, so before I get bombarded with the "why didn't you search, etc etc etc." I just want to know, can I unlock my iPhone 3Gs 3.1.3 to use with any carrier? I tried reading about it, but got into basebands etc etc. and I am not interested in the technical, but if it is possible or not, and how I can get around to doing it. Thanks!

why do people act as if the iphone 3gs,3.1.1 is a brick. Wont it totally be unlockable after the 4.0 release

Yes, good chances that all 3G and 3GS devices would be able to be JB and unlocked again.
