iPhone 3GS has duplicate entries cal/phn book

Hello,
I got a 3GS and I performed a sync, and now I have duplicate entries in my phone book, and ical. Can someone advise me on how to correct this problem with out doing it one by one.

settings

I went into settings on the iphone "mail,contacts,Calendars" clicked on my "mobil me acount" then turned off contacts, calendars & bookmarks. They went away. Don't know why or what that means but they went away.

Turn of those in itunes as your getting them over mobile me anyways and If you go into contacts settings you will see contacts mac and contacts mobile me and all when it on all it shows both which are the same.
