I have recently ordered a new housing for my fiances iPhone 3Gs off eBay as we had an accident with it and badly dented it. Even though I wasn't expecting anything great with it being from Singapore, but it's aweful. There is no way of attaching the chrome rim to the bottom casing so it's of no use whatsoever.

Can anyone recommend a reputable seller where I can buy a decent iPhone 3Gs housing from?

Be carefull buying such items off ebay, ebay is a risky market when it comes to things like that, try and buy only from a top rated seller.

We see this kind of thing all the time,
On the chrome ring flip it over and lay it down flat facing down, around the ring there will be small grooves where the back cover actually goes into the bezel, if you removed the old back cover than more than likely the grooves are filled up with adhesive and dust/gunk, get a screw driver and clean all of the grooves out, it should help it fit better.
    Best of luck :)
