Anybody has some information about stock availability in Belgium for the end of the week ?

Apple charged me £597 for 32gb right after I placed the order.
Hsbc also rang me to check whether it was a fraud transaction...

I tried to order a iphone again this morning with a different post code, and Abbey called me to see if the transaction was genuine.

but apple have not taken the money yet for Fridays or today’s transaction.

Well I cancelled my old order and placed a new one for the 32gb on the IT store, Checked RBS and nothing yet but they might just be very slow.

If this fails then I will be going with a mate to Brussels as soon as I hear there is stock

iphone 3gs in belgium

Guys,

Im new to here ..so hi every1..

Im heading to brussels tomorrow morning(from Ireland) to search for an iphone 3gs..ill be looking in all shops in brussels and Antwerp, ill be there wednesday too...do I have any hope!?

It seems like Belgium is the new italy...;)

All this talk about stock in Belgium makes me interested, has anyone heard about the stock in Italy? Did it ran out there aswell the first day and is out of stock since or have everyone got tired of the old 3GS already there?

Any fresh news from the pasta capitol of the world?...=D

damn.

Just talked to UPS about my package delivery. At the moment it seems that i get my phone tomorrow, because they don't have time (wtf???) to deliver it today. They were going to deliver it today to my home address, but because i had to go to work today and tomorrow, i asked to deliver it to my companys office.

Too bad that i'll get it tomorrow :( Can't wait...

Hi. The 16gb, black and white seems to be available now in Italy. See link below

Indeed, belgium is the new Italy..this time around they are cheaper in Belgium, and also, for me, Belgium is a lot easier and cheaper to get to(from Ireland)

Not much hope, I think. You should have a car with GPS and drive to every single Mobistar shop or Apple Premium Reseller in Belgium.

But, the weather in Belgium will be nice this week. So you'll have a great time here visiting Brussels, Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp.
And don't forget, we always have enough Belgian beers in stock!

well sm1 in the posts above said they read that belgium is gettin some new stock tomorrow evening, do you know anything about that?

I wont have a car, so ill just be calling to all the mobistar shops in the city ctr, near grand place, and if that fails, do you think Antwerp would be any better? Maybe the Saturn store there? Ill be so dissapointed if I dont get one after fying over especially:(

If you are only going to be here for the day then I wouldn't get your hopes up. I had an email from CAMI reporting that they had 1 x 32GB Black and 3 x 16GB White 3GS models but I find it highly unlikely that they will still be available. However, you might get lucky and new stock arrives tomorrow. I wish you the best of luck.

Which reminds me, I need to give CAMI a call this afternoon and see if they have any idea when they are going to receive new stocks.

who is CAMI? Thanks

thanks.

I emailed them and asked could i reserve 1 with my credit card and pick it up from their store tomorrow.

Which store?

If you're coming from City Centre on foot then the one at Place Dumont is very easy as it's right by the end-of-line metro station at Stockel

Then you could also try Macline at Woluwé Shopping Centre (metro stop Rodebeek)

It's going to be freaking hot here in Brussels tomorrow, 29°C and humid so don't wear too much...

Well, certainly not the ones mentioned so far. You could try the following:

CAMI (Chaussée de Charleroi 215-217 - 1060 Bruxelles) - It's a fair hike from The Grand Place so I'd get a metro to Horta and then it's 10 minute walk.

Mac Line (Rue Neuve 123 1000-Bruxelles) - again, it's a fair hike from The Grand Place but certainly walkable (Brussels is not very big in the city centre). No Metros are particularly close but you could try De Brouckére and then it is only an 8-minute walk.

Failing this, you can always try the local Mobistar shops but don't count on any joy from them since you won't be taking out a call plan.

Phoned up my credit card company and the transaction has being approved by them so now just needs to see if apple cancel the order or let it go through

this is fun lol

Well, if i go into a mobistar shop, tell them im living in brussels, and would like to buy the iphone as a prey pay option along with a pre pay mobistar sim card, would this work?

It all depends on who you speak to, I just told the guy i was from London and wanted one.

They just sell you the phone in the box unactivated. You pay for it then when you get home sync to itunes and its ready to go in about 4 minutes.

If you want to buy a pre pay sim from Mobistar then its 5 euros but it also comes with 10 euros credit (i took that option just as a safety net cos i thought itunes would ask for one but it didnt).

The sim will need to be activated in the shop but you don't have to use your new iphone for this. The guy just activated the credit on his nokia 3300 then i put it in my old 2g iphone and used the credit in Brussels to call a mate back in London.

Like i said it all comes down to luck and who you speak too, some Mobistar sellers might prefer to sell to people taking contracts cos they earn a commission as opposed to you or me who just want the phone on its own.

I highly doubt it. As has been mentioned, the salesman gets a commission for selling a monthly contract so with more demand than devices to sell I would fully expect them to hold back stock for only new contract customers. As has already been noted on this thread, even existing Mobistar customers were getting bumped from the reservation list in favour of new customers from other providers.

I'm honestly thinking that you would be wise to delay your trip by a week or two until the madness has died down and you can guarantee a device to take home with you unless you have to be here for business or something anyway. Sorry.
