iPhone 3Gs - Italy and Belgium - unlocked?

There's a Clear edition, a Mirror edition, and a Privacy edition (using authentic 3M privacy material). You can see them on the homepage
Rather annoyed now just took delivery of the phone and its got scratches all around the silver bezel so now I have to return it and then wait for however long it is for a new one to arrive.
It's a good thing I did not cancel the HK one as I might have to use that order instead.
So not happy right now I will take a photo tonight when I am home to show you guys.

Was the box sealed?
I got some very very mild screen cleaner and used that to give it a good polish and it looks like all the scratches have come out i think.
Will look at it in some better light and see if I am happy with it.
I really don't want the hassle of returning it and more waiting.
Congrates for getting your iphone. Hope you enjoy it. About the bezel thing, i guess it depend how much OCD you are. If the scratches you are talking about are few very small barely possible to see, then my advice to you is to keep it. I would just make sure that the product is not faulty and working well. You mentioned that the product was sealed, this means that it is possible that future replacement may have similar issue (even the one from HK). Having said all that i have moderate OCD myself
so i believe if you are not happy with your product at the start then you won't forever, so just return it then. Edit: The other thing to do is to compare your bezel to other iphones and see if it is normal or not?

First Handtek, then CityLink dragging their heels and now Apple QA not doing their job! - Sort of takes the shine off your new toy (No pun intended). Is the bezel plastic, metal or coated?
But hey - at least you got it now Dale - just hope those scratches come off!
Knowing me, I'd drop it or scratch it in the first week. Make sure you have some phone insurance sorted out - like with the bank or something.
To All taking delivery of your unlocked Iphones in the UK:
Is it worth the wait and the anguish? Is the toy we are all after as good as we hoped especially as we are on a different network to O2.
Once you've finished swooning over your shiny new gizmo - post some experiances of life with an unlocked 3 GS.
I'd especially appreciate comments from Orange and Vodafone networks too!
About the bezel thing, i guess it depend how much OCD you are. ..... Having said all that i have moderate OCD myself

When I put in my works vodafone sim it says call lifetime is 3 hours, 2 minutes but how can that be if I have made zero calls on it?
Does it pull this information from itunes or from the sim?

Just done a reset of the phone and it pulls it from itunes.... I think I will do everything from scratch just to make sure it's all ok... haha I guess I do have a bit of OCD!

Just got an email from handtec about the RMA and they said if the item is not returned in pristine condition they charge 25% restocking fee

Why did they end you this email? did you ask about their policy?
I think it is a generic email the guy I spoke to made a note on their system about it being scratched already, just surprised me when I saw the email that's all.

That's 15% more than apple charge for restocking! let's hope when i get mine, that they come in an acceptable condition.

i have noticed the Italian phones have had a few problems, the iphone forum had a big list of issues.
i did notice on my Box the corner was dented in, like it was dropped. you can see it in the picture i uploaded.

Is it the 3GS in general having problems or more so the Italian ones ... what about Belgium ones too and how do the unlocked phones and problems compare to the UK for problems?

I find that iPhone box corners are often like that (perhaps 20% of the time or higher), i'm sure it probs won't have been dropped
One thing that is very intriguing though is what you said about the phone already thinking it had been used.
Can you tell me if you had to go through the phone activation process on iTunes, or was the phone already activated for use?

Nothing for me! i have ordered 2 iphones (black) at the same time as the other guys! I have been told in an email today that i should get it, early next week. So i am waiting!
