rightly so, but if you've got 30% discount that you get if you/or a friend/family works for O2 or McDonalds, it'll set you back around £367.. for a 32GB thats alright

Getting that one year free bolt-on is worth US$360 over here in America. Great deal.

When I was in London this past summer I got an O2 SIM with the web+wifi bolton for 10 pounds per month and it was fantastic. Even adjusting for the absolute horrid exchange rate at that time of the year it was still a better deal than ATT! (The minutes were rather expensive though)

They need to get a code sent to them (that they can request through Our Lounge) that you then take that into the store along with proof of thier employment or thier employee number.

The 30% discount is only off of monthly line rental.

You can get £20 off of a PAYG mobile phone but that excludes iPhone's, PDA's, XDA's and Blackberries.

$99 is the price of the 8gb 3G iPhone on a 2 year contract in the USA not on PAYG

The Phone is too expensive; the bolt on is fine.

I paid £399 for the 16GB 3G including bolt on and would have expected the the 32GB to be at the same price point (as it is in the US). But is £538. So, I'll stick with what I have.

    hi,

if i was to buy the 3GS on PAYG with O2, it says unlimited data and WI-FI, does this just mean when you're in a "hotspot" or does that include 3G data when nowhere near a hotspot.

I would get it on contract but I just feel its so expensive.

    It includes both Wi-Fi & 3G for 12 months.

I might be able to stretch to get the 16GB, but at £440 it'll hurt a lot. I was planning on getting the 32GB, but paying over half a grand for a phone is extortionate.

I wonder if O2 will budge on their pricing.

Actually, you guys don't have a lot of reason to complain. Those prices is what the rest of Europe has been paying for the iPhone on Pay as You Go all along:

    Before, here we paid:

    8GB - 505€ or £435
    16GB - 605 or £521

    So now:

    16GB - 505€ or £435
    32GB - 605 or £521

which is pretty much what you pay now.

I understand that you're mad with the prices now, but you're actually lucky that your prices before were lower than in the rest of Europe.

they've had to pitch the paygo phones that expensive though because it wouldn't make business sense to have the paygo phone cheaper than the price to buy out of contract and get a new one. If it was, people would just get the paygo ones, and they wouldn't be able to secure new 18 month contracts now.

I have a year old iPhone 3G offline, this was purchased for £400 on release day.

I could sell the 3G for £250 but I would have to pay another £200 to get the 3Gs.

    Argghhhh!

    £440 is really expensive!!

Does anybody think there will be a reduction in price of the 3G any time soon?
