So I ordered my iPhone 3GS via FedEX through AT&T and however it has been only a week and just noticed that there is light leaking coming from the headphones port and the left side of my iPhone screen in two seperate sections of the left side.

However, I opened an extra line to get my iPhone discount price then once received the new iPhone 3GS I put my other sim card in to keep the same number I've been using. Basically I'd like to know if there is a way of me still being able to swap this for a new iPhone 3GS with no problem? Or..would I need to throw the sim card in that came with the iPhone that I activated it with?? I just want to make sure the warranty will still be in effect and able to receive a new iPhone with no issues.

Unless I'm worrying too much and they don't check into sim card issues considering both sim cards have iPhone plans, I appreciate your help! Thank you.

Apple doesn't consider light leaks a replaceable issue, sorry. But at least you don't have to worry now.

How is that possible? I've seen tons of people online complaining about there "flaws" with there iPhone and the light leaks they have and being able to receive replacements easily..

Yes you can exchange it for a light leak but so many iPhones have them it's almost impossible to get a good clean one. You can however take a razor blade and puch the screen from the opposite side to even it out, there was a thread on here about that but be careful.

Okay well there are other little issues such as dust collecting in the cracks and seems to be under screen in some areas. As far as the warranty issue goes...would I be fine or what pre-cautions should I make before entering the store?

    Btw never jailbroke or unlocked.

Alright so just got off phone with Apple rep and he gladly set my up with an appointment to replace my phone with a brand new one as he said there are no refurbished in stock anyways.

However, is there a way for them to tell if my mobile number will match up with the serial number of the iPhone 3GS or are they both completely seperate??

Yes the serial number is linked to your sim.
