For the last several weeks my 3GS has been turning itself off. It occurs most often when using the camera. Either shooting pictures or movies. Screen goes blank and I have to turn it back on. Every once in a while this also happens in Safari, but Camera seems to be the worst. I've had this phone since the summer of last year with no problems.
I have tried both rebooting and restoring from a backup in iTunes. Also, it started while I was still on 3.1.2 (last version before 4) but continues to be a problem after upgrading to iOS 4 last week.
Any thoughts? I am about ready to make a genius appt at the Apple store.
