My Iphone 3gs will not restore. I recently updated to IOS 5.0 and phone has been a bit sluggish. About every other week i have been having to restore it because it keeps falling into recovery mode. The phone is not jailbroken and it is recognized in Itunes but when attemping to restore it, it says could not be restored an unknown error occurred (1). Can anyone help me out? Itunes is updated to the latest version and i have tried restoring in a computer with Windows XP and Windows 7.

Put your iPhone into DFU mode and try to restore it again.
    Google is your friend.

You will need to set it up as a new phone, that way the issue will not be put back on the phone.
