iPhone 4.0 On the iPhone 3G

    Has any body beta tested the software iphone 4.0 on the 3g. I currrently have a 3g and am waiting to upgrade to the new iPhone when it comes out. But mean time i want to play about with 4.0 but dont know weather or not there is any point if there isnt much in 4.0 for a 3g verison.

    4.0 will not work on the 3G, its 3GS only (and the next iphone).

    The only thing that us 3G users cannot do in 4.0 is multi-tasking. why this way i don't know. I am going to be upgrading as well but still will update my current 3G to 4.0. I want to test the software but didn't bother doing it.

    Yes it does. It just doesn't work on the 2g.

    sorry to say but you are incorrect. 4.0 is not compatible with the original iPhone but is with the 3G.

    I herd it is coming to iPhone 3g just not the multi tasking

    i remember reading somewhere it wouldnt work but then i remember that it is multitasking only.

    Yes. It will also be missing a few other features.
