I dunno, I use Windows, I just browse the iPhone like a HD.

The iMovie app does NOT let you upload HD video, it just saves it to your camera roll. I used pixelpipe to upload full quality to YouTube.

Note the 720p option. Came directly from my phone, so it is possible with third party apps.
Got a link to this Pixelpipe app please?
Are you sure? I didn't have to export it into my desktop iMovie. All I did was plugged my iPhone into my Mac, opened iPhoto exported the movie to my desktop, then uploaded the video from the YouTube website. No need for iMovie.Hey gang.
I spent the better part of the last 2 days, trying to find an answer here. I even went to Apple Store and asked the guys there- they couldnt figure out why....Here's what you do...if you have a Mac...and the same programs....
You need to plug in iPhone 4 to your computer, then dowload into iPhoto first- as a movie...
THEN you need to export to iMovie
Then make a project and put that event into project
THEN you need to upload it to you YouTube. It will (finally) give you an option to upload in HD- any other way simply doesn't work, and I've tried ALL of the following options as well- without success..
Hope this helps...
Things that DIDNT work...(Apple if you are listening, your iMovie App does
NOT convert it into 720)...

Tried emailing the HD video to myself then uploading it to YouTube manually- it didn't show up in HD
Tried uploading the HD video directly to Youtube via the iPhone4- didn't work
Downloaded video into iMovie, optimized, but it wouldn't let me upload HD into Youtube.
Even tried the iMovie app for the iPhone4, exporting it as an HD (720p) movie, putting in camera roll, THEN uploading to YouTube. Didn't work.
Waited a day to see if it was just a processing delay for YouTube- no luck
Tried doing all of these things in the Apple Store WITH two Apple guys r
Yeah, you don't have to export it to iMovie or any other application. You just have to copy the file to your PC and then upload to YouTube, Facebook, or wherever else you want to put your HD content. Are you sure? I didn't have to export it into my desktop iMovie. All I did was plugged my iPhone into my Mac, opened iPhoto exported the movie to my desktop, then uploaded the video from the YouTube website. No need for iMovie.
Read this thread and have some responses to the things posted here:
- Pixelpipe was removed from the app store for not following the rules of API road. Check this: http://blog.pixelpipe.com/tag/iphone/
- I posted my attempts to get the 720p to YouTube and other services (Vimeo) here. -- http://www.donmartelli.com/blog/2010/6/25/dear-apple-i-want-my-iphone-4-720p.html
Basically, I've tried loading via MMS and email. I've tried to send to Vimeo and Posterous, with no luck. It always gets compressed. The only way that I can get my hands on the footage is if I download it with iPhoto, Lightroom or Aperture.
Other than that, I guess we have to wait for a third party to hook us up with an app. I might even email steve jobs to see what the deal is.
