Might as well master the QWERTY layout now, it's pretty much here to stay, thank the ancient type writer industry for this one ;-)

I type perfectly fine with one hand on the iPhone. Then again, I type at about 140WPM on a traditional computer keyboard.

I can honestly say that typing on the iPhone keyboard has never been the slightest problem for me. I actually consider it to be one of the biggest perks of the phone. After four years of use, looking at the screen isn't even necessary anymore. Also, I type with one hand more often than not, but with two hands I type around 60 wpm on the iPhone.

For a new user, I'd say the best way to conquer whatever small learning curve there may be is to just TRUST THE KEYBOARD. The thought of switching back to T9 will seem so archaic once you just let your thumbs flow and get the hang of it.

Oh, it took me a LONG time to get used to the iPhone keyboard. I was always correcting. I had to learn to just type and autocorrect would fix it. I do still make a lot of mistakes with the letter "i" and "o", but I am much better.

I totally disagree, and i cant understand how it is human possible to type fast (without looking on the screen) with the qwerty. The buttons are soo tiny! :/

(i never use autocorrect because it puts in all kinds of stupid suggestions)
