That is fine. I wouldn't be alarmed.

Just enjoy the phone and use it like normal. If it needs to be charged everyday then that is fine. Just remember to run it down to 20% or less at least once a month and the battery will last for years.

I wonder where this myth got started because I read it a lot online. The longest life for a lithium ion battery can be achieved by partial discharges and frequent recharges as opposed to full discharges. In no way, shape or form does a full discharge/recharge extend the life of a l-ion battery. In fact, it puts additional strain on it, shortening its life. Lithium ion batteries have no memory effect like nickel cadmium, therefore there is no harm from partial recharging.

Sushi beat me to it. Running modern rechargeables down all the way can cause damage. :)

I use the crap out of my phone. I play music, apps, check email over Outlook web app through Safari(corporate IT doesnt support iPhone due to security concerns..) probably a good 20 times a day, texting, phone calls, and more. I leave bluetooth on, for music when I can listen, and Wi-Fi, so that it hits instantly when I'm at home or familiar places so that I can help ease AT&T network issues. I CAN NOT KILL THE BATTERY ON MY IPHONE 4!!! CAN NOT!! Most days I end the day with around 50%. I charge it full, and go again the next day. Because of this, I let it die on weekends, I need it dearly for work during the week, which is more than the once a month that Apple recommends. But I use it just as much, if not more than my 3GS, which I was completely surprised with battery life. Towards the end of the year that I had my 3GS, a full day would run it down to 25-30%, charging it fully every night. Maybe its spotty, but certainly not an issue for me. I am happy with my iPhone 4.

When does your day start and end?

My iP4 has been great since launch, until about 2 days ago.

Now it drains about 1% every 3 minutes, with the screen off and no apps in the multitasking bar. I haven't made any changes at all.

The only recent apps I had installed were Vevo and Firefox Home, both of which have since been uninstalled followed by 2 hard reboots.........

It also seems to get quite warn to the touch just sitting on my desk.

dunno if this is normal but I had a 10% loss in battery power overnight (was fully charged) with it in sleep mode (for alarm), about 13 hours on now I'm at 63%..... I used sat nav for maybe half an hour but it's been locked an screen off for majority of the day.... is this normal?

OK after a restore and reload from a previous backup it is OK.

So it had to be the new version of Google's app, Firefox Home or Vevo that was causing the drain. Just uninstalling those apps had no effect.

My normal usage is a 2-1 ratio. 4 hrs usage, 7'ish hrs standby.

My day starts around 3:30am when I get up and grab my phone immediately to check emails from previous night. And it ends around 8pm when I go to bed after reading the news on my phone, then it gets plugged in. Still consistently getting all that usage and more, and ending the day around 50%.

I have the same usage and standby time (10h and 13 min)?!?! i fully charged him yesterday and left him in a standby mode throughout the night, didnt use him and in the morning I had 85% bat and the same usage and standby time, how is that possible?!?! please help
