iPhone 4 battery draining?

Hello,
I had my iPhone for a long time now, but a week ago my battery started to go downhill, badly.
I decided to go on Google, trying to fix this. Unfortunatly, nothing really worked. My battery life is like 4 hours standby. I overcharge my phone many times too, don't know if that's the problem? Most of the times it charges up to 7 hours at once (I leave it on the charger at night). Can somebody help with this problem please?

You might need to have the battery replaced.
The iphone 4 is over 4 years old so battery might have degraded and not hold charge or perform as it did years ago.
