Sorry if this has been asked, I couldn't find it in a search. I'd just like to know if the bezel is shiny or brushed metal on the iPhone 4. Thanks.

I believe either SJ himself or the MacRumors dude that was typing the livechat during the keynote said that it was brushed.

Thanks for this info. If it's brushed, it means I won't have to get a case or a bumper.

Ahhhh gotcha, yeah, if that's the same stuff as on the other iPhones, I would imagine that it is.

The iPhone 4 doesn't have a metal bezel, just a stainless steel band. I'm looking forward to seeing how scratch-resistant it is since the glass is difficult to scratch.

I thought there wasnt any plastic. I thought the glass went all the way up to the metal.

There is a teeny plastic band around the glass to prevent the glass edge from chipping or slicing your hand open. You will appreciate it when your hand is not bleeding :)

I thought that was rubber. I think it is, from the way that little strands keep sticking out on my iPad.

From the apple site it was looking to me like a satin finish, not entirely shiny but not entirely brushed either.

Yeah, it's plastic. Since the glass isnt flush with the metal, it doesnt need that gasket.

I don't really understand why they didn't just extend the band to be flush with the glass. They could have even given the band a slight curve for ergonomics too, so it'd still look just as thin.

I think that the stainless steel band is actually anodized that way it would fit in with all the other products apple sells

The MacBook Pro, iPad, etc. use aluminum, though. For the band on the iPhone 4 Apple is using special-engineered stainless steel. I don't know if stainless steel is typically anodized, though there is definitely a distinction between anodized aluminum and stainless steel.
