All the times I've gotten past the spinning wheel, (three now) it only offers the option to pick up the phone in the store. Is this standard now?

when I was at the at&t store they said if you pre-ordered the first X amount of customers will get it on the 24th and if you get it shipped to your house instead of the store(and pick it up) it will take a few days more for shipping for some reason.
I particularly like the bold part.
