All the times I've gotten past the spinning wheel, (three now) it only offers the option to pick up the phone in the store. Is this standard now?

Same here. I want it delivered!!!

The side where shipping would be says:
    Your request couldn’t be processed.
We’re sorry, but there was an error processing your request. Please try again later.

Yeah I don't want to deal with any humans on launch day or lines.

Apple store specialist (very enthusiastic): OK , so we're going to plug in the iPhone 4 to this MacBook Pro, Apple's laptop, via USB and let it talk to iTunes

    Me: mm

A.S.S.: Isn't this great? Being in a store that looks like every one in the country? I just feel so at home and like such a free spirit with these rings in my nose and face and emo attire.

    Me: mm

A.S.S.: are you aware of Apple Care and Mobile Me?

    Me: grunt (at this point)

A.S.S: so the new iPhone has this beautiful retina display, you'll love it. How long have you been using a mac for?

(in my head) **** noob and give me my phone so I can carry on with my day.

when I was at the at&t store they said if you pre-ordered the first X amount of customers will get it on the 24th and if you get it shipped to your house instead of the store(and pick it up) it will take a few days more for shipping for some reason.
