other then wanting to be different I dont get the infatuation with a clear backplate, that inside looks ugly
I ordered one from sw-box on 3/5 and it still hasn't arrived.
I fear it may be lost.
It was shipped on 3/15.
Something else I ordered from another company in China was shipped 3/13 and arrived a few days ago.
Not sure where you're at in the world but mine "shipped" 3 weeks ago and I just got it yesterday. I'm on the east coast so I know, from previous purchases from China, that it takes a little longer to get to me. I'd say give it another week or two.
Has anyone also replaced the front? I see a lot of rear and front glass replacements on ebay. just afraid to order in case its crap.
When my warranty's up think I'm definitely getting one of these!
I know removing the back technically doesn't break the warranty, but y'know...
just got mine. considering how the guts look on most phones when exposed, the iphone is quite pleasant, but obviously wasnt designed in mind to be shown off.
regardless, i'll be using mine as a picture frame and will use the clear backplate to hold some of my art prints inside the phone for display.
Thought about doing this but wouldn't it affect the battery as far as heat?

i just read the instructions to take it apart and I am like... meh.... cbf to do it
Thanks for the reply my boyfriend said the same when I asked.
I'm still under warranty too and that's what I originally thought. But after changing the back out and seeing how easy/fast it was, I'd just say go for it. You can always put the OEM back on in the event you need to get it serviced or something. Takes, literally, like 2 minutes to do it.
their was something on Gizmodo a few weeks ago about this
basically tells you how to take apart you existing back and using nail polish remover remove the black paint on the existing glass case.
That way you retain your phons details on the rear
