Iphone 4 downgrade from 4.1 to 4.0.1

Hi guys just a quick 1 tryin to downgrade iphone 4 firmware from 4.1 to 4.0.1 but i tunes keeps sayin firmware file is incompatible any reason for this or how to fix? trying to jailbreak for first time using jailbreakme thanks in advance

It requires that you saved hashes for firmware 4.0.1, if you didn't no downgrade.

Also, since you updated to 4.1, you also have the new unlockable baseband which cannot be downgraded (unless you used TU to upgrade)

So, I guess you aren't "smarter than the average bear". Sorry, couldn't resist, no harm intended.

If you don't have a SHSH on file, you're out of luck.

Short answer: only if you got your SHSHs saved (if you don't know what SHSHs are, and you have never been jalbroken, them you don't have it
