nothing new

the only difference is that it took 3 drops from 6 feet to break the back

I was expecting to be disappointed in the bumper's performance, but that video made me think otherwise. :apple:

Tell me about it! Seems to be a decent case after all. :apple:

I'm 6'5" unless jr is a very tall kid, that wasn't 6'. he'd have to be about 6'3" to for that to be 6', 8' etc.. i don't buy it. It stands up fine.. i'm just saying, the heights are exaggerated.

I have one on mine and actually like the look of the phone better with it on. Its a really nice, provides a great grip, and when used with a screen shield or Zagg shield on the back, you have great protection yet retain the cool look.

Great test video.

I didn't expect it to survive that last drop, but under more realistic conditions, I was impressed. As long as it survived those first three drops between 3-8ft, I feel reassured with my launch day bumper purchase.

So, is SquareTrade the best insurance policy for the iPhone? I never bought anything (was given AppleCare at the Apple store due to a 3 hour wait because of an extremely long wait due to ATT)?

Also, is there a difference in cost between the 16 and 32GB versions? I noticed the $94 price was for a 16BG phone. Thanks for posting this btw. Having all that glass will be tough on a fall.

I dropped my phone off my lap when I got out of the car with a bumper on, maybe a two foot drop at the most and the back corner glass by the camera completely shattered. I had an invisible shield on too. I know most of you will say pictures or it didn't happen but luckily apple gave me a new one when I went in because my bumper was all scratched up and the glass had spiderwebbed right into the rubber on the bumper and pierced it..

Take it as you want, but honestly I won't be using any of my bumpers anymore.... Incase slider :0

Here is an even more incredible bumper type case with an iPhone being hurled at a wall and dropped from a second story building several times onto rocks, with no damage! It seems that this case is made of a new material that is soft and pliable but when it feels an impact, it instantly turns as hard as rock.

Jump to 4:25 if you want to see the phone being thrown, but the whole video is pretty interesting.
