I'm 6'5" unless jr is a very tall kid, that wasn't 6'. he'd have to be about 6'3" to for that to be 6', 8' etc.. i don't buy it. It stands up fine.. i'm just saying, the heights are exaggerated.
Really, you're complaining that the "heights are exaggerated"? Did you see it fall? Do you really think the 4 or so inches would of made the difference? Some people really need something to complain about don't they.

The point is, if you're going to that trouble, report accurately. And yes 6 inches could make a difference... let alone a foot.

don't trust it? it's not like he cushioned the drops in any way

He did seem to try and spin the phone in an attempt get it to land on it's side, where the bumper offers the most protection.

Why are people acting like its a conspiracy? The dumb kids dropped his a phone a few times and it didnt break. Any phone if it lands right will break or will not break.

Another point would be that he said he's 6'4" His ear appears to be about 4" from the top of his head...
Still another point would be to watch the video first...

Yes, it's only one drop at each height, but it's nice to see that the bumper provides some protection. Will it protect you from every stupid, uncoordinated, and accidental mishap? Of course not. It was a simple test done by someone who did something you or I wouldn't dream of doing. I'm glad he did it.

Honestly, what is it about this place? bitch, whine, moan, complain, bitch, whine, moan, complain, bitch, whine, moan, complain, bitch, whine, moan, complain, all day long.
[edit. I see you've been here a lot longer than me so I'll take part that back. ;) ]

The purpose of that video for me is it showed some protection with a bumper. I wasn't expecting for the bumper to turn the iPhone 4 into something indestructible from any random fall.

YMMV.

Gives iP4 owners "some" hope that their phone won't shatter. It doesn't 100% guarantee that it will be immune to shatter. I could have a 50/50 chance of it breaking depending on the angle of the fall and what it hits. Some hope is better than none.

The video starts with the ad for squaretrade... it says insurance.... but whatever... the bumper's good at reasonable heights. And squaretrade is a decent deal.

I was kidding, that video had several long commercials in it, I was just being sarcastic. :D

interesting. I know 2 people w/bumpers dropped onto streets and have very minor damage (scratches/tiny chips). they both watched this vid and both said, "well I guess I had bad luck"

Performed better than I expected although that video could have been cut down from 7 minutes to about 30 seconds lol.

I'm sure I saw a bumper drop test video somewhere where the glass smashed on the 3rd drop from normal head height? Think it's just the luck of the fall although I'm sure the bumper helps more than not having it.
