Hello all! I recently found my old iPhone 4, and it's locked with a passcode. I remember having tons of photos on there that I'd like to go through. I can't remember the passcode, and if i try to sync it to my new iMac to import photos, it says I have to select "trust" on my phone. I can't do this because the phone is locked. I no longer have the laptop that I used to use for this iPhone. On to the question; I can probably get the passcode right if I try enough since it's always numbers that pertain to my life. However, I know the phone will lock for 1 minute at 6 attempts, 5 min at 7, 15 min at 8, 1 hour at 9, and will be disabled at 10. I remember having this issue before when I got my iPhone 5 and was trying to access photos on my 4. (I got it that time, eventually) After forgetting my passcode then, the phone would get disabled temporarily and I'd just throw it back in the drawer and try again some other time. I think when I tried again at a later date, I was able to try another 6 times before getting a disabled message.

So, is there a certain amount of time I can wait so that the "attempts" number gets reset? Right now if I turn the phone off and try again it locks for 5 min, 15 min, etc. after the first attempt. I'm in no rush to recover the photos, though it would be nice to.

Thanks!

At the iPhone hacks section.
You really can't remember your own passcode you setup?
You can only try so many times until the phone is disabled for good.
If you tried all your usual PIN number combinations and then the phone gets disabled you will have to restore with iTunes and lose everything that was on it.

Unfortunately not... keep in mind this was a few years ago that I set the passcode and it could be a number of things... gf at the time's birthday, some reference to my birth year/month, etc. I am one of those people that changes my passcode every so often as well. I guess I can try a few more times and see how that pans out... there's no way to enable the phone to import photos on my new computer is there?

Spencer2612, go to YouTube and search for "can't remember passcode". There is a Hack you can do very easily.
Try a couple of these:

I'm almost certain it doesn't reset, the time just keeps rising. A buddy of mine did this to a work colleague and it ended up at a ridiculous number. I can't remember what it was but my advice is write down everything it could be and put them in order of likeliness first. Every attempt counts!

Edit: Or you could just do that ^
