I have several emails set up including gmail account and a work POP email.

Sometimes when I send a mail from the work POP address (even by way of a reply from the correct mailbox) the sent mail then appears in the sent boxes of both the POP and the gmail. (there is no bcc enabled)

Then, when a client replies it always goes to the gmail address, meaning A:

The reply Im expecting goes into the wrong mailbox

B: the client now has my personal email address.

I have double and triple checked, and on the iPhone the account the mail was sent from is definitely the POP and not gmail. Apple don't have a solution at present. Amy ideas?

Yes, I do.

The problem only happens occasionally.
I agree with miles01110, it sounds like an outgoing server problem.
When you look at the "outgoing" server list on your phone, do you have all of the servers set to "off" except the one that is assigned to that particular account? if you don't, then if the first server fails, for whatever reason, it will select the next server in line. In fact, I often use the gmail outgoing server to send large emails from my home account, because of the 1 mb size limitation.
When I do this, the sent mail always shows up in my Gmail sent list.

Thanks guys, I do (did!) have gmail as a secondary server however will take your advice and deactivate it.
