Precisely! Why cover up such a beautiful design as the new iPhone 4!I have never had a screen protector or case (or a scratch), so I know how well the older iPhone screens stand up to normal use, but that's simply amazing!
A lot of people said you couldn't scratch the 3G and 3GS screens either. I beg to differ.

First, the battery is very easy to remove (and thus, replace) after removing the two screws. The LCD panel is not, however, as it's tighly glued to the glass and digitizer.
So if you do manage to break the Gorilla Glass, you'll have to replace it, the digitizer, and the LCD as a single unit.
Thanks!
It'll be interesting to see what the cost of that assembly is with the new display.
iResQ is charging $189 for black and $199 for white for replacement of the glass, LCD, and digitizer.
The back glass is another $90.

Question is whether or not iresq has access to the exact apple retina displays to replace with, as opposed to slapping a generic or previous generations LCD in there...
And we get closer to transparent aluminum!![]()
I still may put a Zagg shield on the back of the phone, but now I'm pretty sure I'm not going to do anything to the front of it. Zagg back plus Apple Bumper = pretty good setup. I think.
It appears that it is NOT scratch proof. http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/23/yes-you-can-certainly-scratch-the-iphone-4/
