Hey Guys. My folks bought me this shiny iphone 4 few days ago, now I need a case that can handle the abuse and carelessness manhandling that my dad says i am famous for. I dropped my 3G on its very 1st day i owned it. I looked at the Vapor X, but that is more style and coolness that I hoped for. I need something rugged that keeps up with me. I am college student at BYU, and I am looking for any cool ideas on a sturdy case. I love the Vapor X, but Im afraid it won't handle the trashing.

    any ideas? BYU freshman.

Well, if you're looking for something tough then I'd recommend the Otterbox case. It has a two piece snap on plastic case with a built in screen protector, and then a rubber casing that goes over it. It's a little bulky, but it'll definitely withstand any drops. Just don't drop it in water :p

Otterbox Defender. I dropped my phone from 3 feet up onto concrete just to see if the case worked. Passed with flying colors

Definately the otterbox, commuter is thinner and more carryable imo but the defender as the name suggests, gives more protection as it has a layer over the screen.

If you're rough on phones then I would definitely recommend the OB Defender as stated. Amazon has them for $22 now while they're originally $50. Enjoy your i4.

    Sweet...................

I really dig the Otterbox. I went to Amazon to google it, and dang, there is a deep assortment of other brands. I ordered the OB and some high tech rubberized EPI case as well from Mivizu for my rough handling, but I also saw some other slick and really cool looking cases. My GF (sic) has an iPhone 4 too, so I ended up ordering and adding some pink leather case from Mivizu at Amazon for my chic. I can't wait to get these cases. With christmas right around the corner, I want to see how well these cases hold up. I will post some images of my new cases when they get in. BTW, how good is Amazon's shipping service. Thanks to everyone for the feedback!

The Vapor is a really cool looking case BUT it won't protect you if you drop it. If anything, the impact will damage it more.

What you really need is some silicone padding on the case.

Anyways, I hear the question asked tons of times so I compiled a list of brands that I feel are the best in the industry. It's my opinion so no bashing!

Disclaimer [Brands are listed in alphabetical order and not by ranking]

    Case-mate - General audience
Mivizu - Professional audience - Laywers, doctors, business executives, celebs
Otterbox - Construction workers, mechanics, etc.
    Speck - Youngsters

All the other companies are just imposters. Haha
    :D

Seems like your the youngster type! Let me know what you decide!

    found another one. Mivizu

Well I was impressed with the Incipio iPhone case, however I wanted to see what other iPhone cases were out there so I headed to Amazon and Overstock. I did find a impressive assortment of other brands like Otterbox, Incase, Mivizu, Belkin, Speck. I even found some real trendy brands like Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, and Donna Karan and even Issey Miyake. While the assortment is deep and wide, I was still looking for a clean, sophisticated design with an elegant appeal to simplism. After review all the brands, I settled for Mivizu. The have great customer reviews, the product has well design and meaningful layout that serves it’s us and purpose. I found an iPhone case that delivered on all my requirements, including delivering a great value against some of the other competing brands. The case was a little too much for me. I do like, but I instead choose something a little more minimalist with clean contours and outlines. The biggest drawback with the Incipio case is price itself. Mivizu has an equally shell with EPI technology for half the price.

Verizon iPhone 4 is No more a rumor. Check this out.

I was on Facebook this morning when I saw a new iPhone 4 case that looks rather clean contour and minimalist in design. Getting ready pre-ordered my Verizon iPhone 4. I went over to Mivizu and ordered the new Alien EPIX case.

Check it out. I think most people would like the new design. The PR say's they are giving samples away.
