iPhone 4 in recovery mode?

Today I turned my iPhone 4 off and back on because I lost service. When I turned it back on the "connect to itunes" screen popped up then saying my iPhone 4 is in recovery mode and I need to restore. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah. It just happened 5 mins ago. It acted like it was installing something then it rebooted. Once it was back up, it only showed the "connect to iTunes" screen.

I'm not jailbroken and was browsing a story on Digg.com.

Could or could not be related. Weird.
