Iphone 4 incorrect capacity reading

Hello,

I recently bought an iphone 4 and I have an issue regarding the storage capacity reading. I had 12.8GB as my free space before I installed an app via itunes, with a size of 63MB. Now my reading shows I have 12.5GB, which is a drop of 300MB when I only installed a 63MB app.

Am I being thick here? please put me out of my misery.

Don't forget that you are also storing data for this and any other previously installed apps as well as stuff like mail, texts, photos, and on and on.
