iphone 4 initial charge with car charger?

Hi guys,

I will be picking up a new iphone 4 in a few days just before I go on a roadtrip. Can someone tell me if its safe to do the initial charge for iphone through a car charger? I read somewhere that you are meant to only do the initial charge with the wall charger?

While I'm not for certain, I don't believe Apple has anything negative to say about this. A charge is a charge and I don't think it would really matter or have any adverse affect on your new phone.

Whats an initial charge? My understanding is that you don't need to do anything special when you get the phone.
